I have been in the mood to sketch lately, but more specifically sketch using charcoal. I usually do pencil drawings but I have always wanted to master charcoal but I am always to chicken and I resort back to pencils every time. So I figured I will never "master" it if I never try. I had to start somewhere so here is the result of my first attempt using charcoal. Dexter, of course. I'm not super pleased but once I started I realized that charcoal wasn't as scary as I once thought however it's not a friend of the eraser which means it's not exactly a friend of mistakes--something for me to get used to.

this turned out really good!!
Oh, Jenny, this looks AMAZING! Honestly...it's fabulous! What did you think about charcoal? It really frightened me at first, but now I love it and dread when my homework is limited to graphite. Charcoal just has a certain texture and feeling to it that is super fun to play with...but I agree with you. Adjusting to the lack of an eraser can really throw you!
Love your creative heart and mind, here!! :)
