"You Don't Have to Take my Word for it"

Today I logged on to my facebook and my brother had posted a link to an article that informed readers that the beloved children's show, Reading Rainbow is airing it's last episode ever today. You can read the whole story here. If you don't want to read the whole article I'll give you the short version. Basically after 26 years Reading Rainbow is ending because TV executives think that educational shows for children should be teaching kids how to read and not why. What a lapse in judgement! I loved Reading Rainbow as a child and I still stop when I'm flipping channels when it's on. From the kickin' theme song, to the stories that were read by host LaVar Burton and the testimonials from kids about their favorite books...this show was golden. It will be truly missed and always hold a special place in my heart. All I have to say is it's a real shame that this show is no more. What will generations to come watch when they are young? Sadly, not Reading Rainbow.

Nooo! No more LaVar? That is so sad. What a wonderful show. It's so sad to see the shows of our youth get taken off air! The day they can Sesame Street will really be a sad day...hopefully that day never comes!
